Since the 1940’s the Vancouver Special has quickly become the staple in the lower mainland; It was affordable, quick to build and offered maximum floor space for the owner. However, while these homes were once the darling of Vancouver and Burnaby, they aren’t the prettiest homes on the block. In their original state, they also offer very little in terms of individualized personality.
